Lie Detector

When you look at a friend's Instagram account what do you see?  Cute dog, fun vacation, perfect kids; but how can we tell the difference between what in the picture is true and what is a carefully concocted illusion. Curating your narrative is the name of the game online but is that different from how we interact in real life? Have we just digitized our basic human need to be well liked, to seem successful, and put together? Tech expert Sree Sreenivasan explores questions about truth and lies in the digital age in this original piece.

Created by Sree Sreenivasan & Julia Seares

An investigation into our internal rhythms and the external factors that set the tempo for our biology, CONTROL CHORUS is a new piece of scientific performance that examines expression & suppression, positive & negative feedback, promotion & inhibition. With a chorus of bodies, brains, & biology calling the shots, how can we be sure who or what is in control?

Created by Dana Abrassart & Anne Cecelia Demelo

Zone Out

What would you do if you went to a doctors office at the age of 13 and learn you are not who you have been lead to singularly believe. Who are you then? What does that mean? Do you matter? Can you have a voice? Is this a moment of your life where you can listen to the amount of medical and other peoples personal jargon come at you, or do you out, and maybe go on the best adventure of your life? This is the musical story of a young person who comes to learn they have an intersex condition.

Created by Sharone Halevy, Cathrine Clune-Taylor, PHD & Charlotte Moroz

Blood Shame

Are our responses to trauma beneficial? What if we could erase our trauma? Would we live healthier lives? Blood Shame investigates memories of trauma, counters James Watson’s theory of genetics, and explores the legacy of slavery in modern America.

Created by Bianca Jones-Marlin, PHD & Benjamin Viertel
