Talk soon. Talk often Shoalhaven
Event Information
Description
Sometimes parents and carers can be so concerned about getting it right ,perfectly right, that they end up saying nothing at all. Young people in todays society are having to navigate and negotiate a lot more complexity around sex than ever before. Talk soon. Talk often is a two hour information session with Naomi Viret, Sexual Health Education Officer from the HIV & Related Programs(HARP) Unit and Noeline Bedford, Clinical Nurse Specialist, from the Illawarra Shoalhaven Sexual Health Service. The session is an invitation to open(and to keep open) the conversation for parents and carers to talk to kids aged 13 and upwards about sex. The information covered will be about healthy relationships, consent and an update on Sexually Transmissible Infection(STIs) and services available. Refreshments will be provided with the opportunity to talk to the presenters and to collect free supportive resources.
