About this event

Clayshire Castle's Medieval Faire is an annual affair that follows the War of the Roses. There's jousting, an archery tourney (as all medieval faires need!), and a demonstrating blacksmith, among so many absolutely wonderful shops and more! H. T. Martineau will have a colorful, striped tent set up near the blacksmiith with the Dragonwolf trilogy, Dawn of the Dragonwolf (the D&D companion book), the first two books in the Hammer and Flame trilogy (Ember in the Forge and Ember on the Anvil), companion board game, cover art prints, audiobooks, keychains, necklaces, medallions, coasters, and maybe more!

Once again, there will be an additional table where players can complete the Paeor's Game campaign of the Dawn of the Dragonwolf D&D session series, based on signups. The times will be on the program along with our location on the map! Sign up ahead of time by reaching out to talesofambergrove@gmail.com.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay with a card?

Sometimes. We accept all major cards through the Square point-of-sale and via the events-only listings on the website. However, Clayshire Castle is in the woods, in the boonies, and networks often fail. We recommend bringing cash at least for if/when the card-reader fails.

Do I need to know how to play D&D to participate in the game at the Medieval Faire?

Nope! Characters are premade and handouts explaining how to use the dice are included. Simple fighters are accessible to all players, and the author can answer most play questions as they pertain to that game.

What is there to do at the event besides visit your booth?

So much! Visit the Clayshire Castle Medieval Faire site for information about shows and booths. The festival is fantastic, especially in the shadow of a castle. If you love fantasy or adventures, you will love the Medieval Faire.

What will the author be doing?

Besides running the 5e D&D games, the author will remain at the booth to sign books and answer questions.

How much does it cost to play the D&D game at the festival?

Nothing! It is totally free.

Do you have free stuff?

Yes! Bookmarks and maps are always free.

Where will you be?

There will be festival maps on the day, and we will be marked on the map and the games will be listed in the program. You'll find us in the blue and orange striped tent by the blacksmith!
