Talent Development Programme Workshop 2
Overview
Join us for the next Talent Development Programme Workshop, focused on early career success and leadership.
Date & Time: Tuesday 10th February 2026, 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM
Venue: Building 100, Room 3023, University of Southampton, Highfield Campus, University Road, Southampton SO17 1BJ
This interactive session will feature a keynote talk from Amanda Beable, Head of Transformation and Business Services at Hampshire County Council, who will share practical insights from her leadership journey, including the skills, mindsets, and career “life hacks” that help graduates succeed and progress early in their careers.
Following the keynote, students will take part in an interactive group activity titled “How to Lead When You’re Not in Charge.” Each table will be given a real world scenario designed specifically for early career and graduate level professionals. Working in small groups, you will develop a short action plan focused on communication, influence, and collaboration, key skills valued by employers across all sectors.
Each table will be supported by a table lead to guide discussion, and groups will feed back their action plans at the end of the session.
This session is ideal for students who want practical, honest advice on how to stand out in the workplace, build credibility early, and develop leadership skills, even without a formal leadership title.
