Tactical decisions

This course is designed to provide information to the new small department chief that will allow him or her to make sound tactical decisions during an incident. These concepts are basic in nature and are offered in an effort to keep all members of the fire department safe under the direction of the small department chief. It is recommended that the chief attend multiple course offerings on fire tactics following the completion of this course to attain a more well-rounded understanding of fire tactics and fire behavior and how to keep the firefighters under his or her command safe during incident operations.
