Juan in a Million

Juan and Myrna Meza, owners of <A HREF="juaninamillion.com" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Juan in a Million</A>, are inviting east Austin restaurant and food-permitted business owners and managers to a free “Tacos &amp; Training” breakfast featuring the Austin Resource Recovery department. This event is intended to help businesses learn about the Universal Recycling Ordinance (URO) requirements, as well as best practices.
Beginning Oct. 1, 2018 all food-permitted businesses will be affected by Austin’s URO which requires that businesses provide employees with on-site access to divert organic materials such as food scraps, expired foods, and food-soiled papers, from local landfills. More URO information is available at <A HREF="http://www.austintexas.gov/bizorganics" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">www.austintexas.gov/bizorganics</A>.

The event will be held inside Juan in a Million’s private room located behind the restaurant. Parking is available behind the restaurant, in the parking lot labeled “Juan in a Million Additional Parking”, and on side streets or attendees can walk, bike, or bus over.

School teachers Juan and Myrna Meza took a chance on their dream and opened Juan in a Million in July 1980 in East Austin. Thirty-six years later, Juan in a Million remains a true family business with son Juan Jr. managing day-to-day operations and daughter Christina managing media relations. Together the family continues to serve original, homemade recipes with a smile and hearty handshake.
