Topic:Affordable Housing Month: Tackling Homelessness Through Innovative Modular Construction, Design, and Service Program Convergence in Permanent Supportive Housing DevelopmentEvent Summary:&quot;Tackling Homelessness Through Innovative Modular Construction, Design, and Service Program Convergence in Permanent Supportive Housing Development” (an hour presentation with Q&amp;A) is hosted by SV@ Home and <a href="https://ecs-sf.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Episcopal Community Services</a> (“<a href="https://ecs-sf.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ECS</a>”), as part of Affordable Housing month. This presentation will showcase how Federal, State and Municipal initiatives can be catalyzed through innovation and collaborative partnerships through development, design, construction, and supportive service programs convergence. This presentation will explore an actual new 256-units affordable housing development on a 1.16 AC site, <a href="https://www.novoco.com/periodicals/articles/1064-mission-street-untangles-layers-complexity-bring-largest-permanent-supportive-housing-site-san" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">1064-1066 Mission Street in San Francisco</a>, that serves unhoused residents and seniors over 55. The project includes a unique blend of many “FIRST’s”: 1) The largest factory-built modular PSH new construction in the Bay Area; 2) The first project that uses the Federal Title V program; and, 3) The robust and unique blend of on-site supportive services programming that include on-site Medical/Dental Health Clinics, the City/County’s Homeless Outreach Team headquarter, and Supportive Services programs. It features a new, 6,000 Sq.Ft. CHEFS (“Conquering Homelessness through Employment in Food Services”) commercial kitchen – an on-site, innovative, workforce development culinary training social enterprise program for our residents that was created and operated by ECS. We will discuss how we create service-enriched, welcoming homes for our residents through collaboration and innovation throughout the design and development process, and specific lessons learned. We will also discuss how the partnerships can serve as part of the housing delivery model in the affordable housing development industry.
