Historic weaving
Tablet weaving is art that dates back to Medieval times. Then the weaving was stretched between two poles, now we us an inkle loom. Using the turning of the cards to rearrange the warp as you work, you can create beautiful and complex designs and learn some basic skills that you can take with you when you try other looms.
The workshop Instructor is our newest co-op member, Tonya Leach. She is a fabulous weaver and it is finally possible for us to offer some weaving classes that people have asked about.
If you have a loom and tablets that you've never figured out how to use, bring it with you. For those who don't have a loom there are loaners available and there will be looms and tablets for sale at the end of the workshop. All materials are provided, but participants should bring a small pair of scissors.
