we welcome you into synth garden, a space for sonic collaboration, vibrational healing, and live artmaking on October 23rd at POWRPLNT (562 Evergreen Ave) and simultaneously broadcast online.as we move past this seasonal transition and settle into fall, how can we reflect, listen, and attune ourselves to the many ecosystems we inhabit? Inspired by these relationships, we invite you into a day of sonic activations, blooming, and collaboration with both human and other-than-human friends (plants and synths!)This event is free thanks to NYFA, NY Culture, Made in NY, and Queens Theatre. #CityArtistCorps.ENTRY REQUIREMENTSThe event is open to all ages and experience levels with an RSVP. Following NYC Protocol, all attendees 12 years and older must be vaccinated as the event is indoors.GARDEN BEDSVarious stations (Garden Beds) inside the venue will feature a collection of newer and vintage synths and electronic music instruments from Synth Library NYC&#x27;s library. Event-goers will have an opportunity to play the instruments, exploring sounds and textures in groups of three.  No previous experience with synthesizers or music is required and improvisational experimentation is encouraged.BOOK A SLOTThe event is free with an RSVP. In order to manage capacity and foster comfortable collaboration, we are encouraging garden visitors to sign up for a 30-minute slot beforehand to book their time in the space to play with the synths and electronic instruments on the various garden beds.WORKSHOPLuisa Pereira, an artist / engineer / musician, will be leading an &quot;Intro to Analog Synthesis&quot; Workshop to open the event.VOLUNTEER WITH CLEAN BUSHWICK INITIATIVEWe are partnering with Clean Bushwick Initiative who will organize a neighborhood cleanup around the space. Supplies (gloves, trashbags, etc) will be included and your RSVP beforehand helps us know how many to bring. We will depart at 5:15 and return in time to catch the final performance, a sonic spirit sound bath by STARR.FINAL PERFORMANCESTARR will be leading a sonic spirit bath to close out the event at 6:30.FOODExpect some special treats from Nuestra Mesa BK.PLANTS FOR THE PEOPLE BROOKLYNWill provide a plant propagation station!
