Currituck County 4-H is hosting a field trip to Sylvan Heights Bird Park on July 11, 2024 for youth ages 8-14 years of age.

Participants will meet at the NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck Center office located at 120 Community Way in Barco at 8:00am and travel with the 4-H staff to Scotland Neck, NC. There they will visit Sylvan Heights Bird park and go to the special exhibit called the landing zone where they will feed the pink flamingos and parakeets. They will also walk all throughout the park and see birds from different parts of the world. Each child will be given a scavenger hunt activity that will help them document what they are learning as they walk through the park. Youth will need to bring a bag lunch and wear comfortable walking shoes. Pick up will be that afternoon at 4:30 pm at the NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck Center.

Space is limited and registration deadline is July 8, 2024. There is a $10.00 registration fee. This may be paid online through eventbrite or you may pay with cash or check. Cash and check payments need to be received within five days of your registration. If you are paying by check please make it payable to NCSU, and mail it to NCCE 120 Community Way Barco NC 27917. All participants must also be enrolled in 4-H Online for the 2024 program year; the link to that portion of the registration process is https://v2.4honline.com .
