Swing II: Rhythm & Flow

Come out and dance with us! Swing Ann Arbor (SAA) is a University of Michigan student and Ann Arbor-area community organization. SAA hosts classes and social dances every Wednesday. Spend time with friends, meet new people, listen to great jazz music, and get movin’. With SAA, you’ll have the opportunity to learn Lindy Hop, as well as Balboa, Charleston, and St. Louis Shag. No experience or partner required to attend SAA dances or beginner lessons.

This is a FOUR WEEK series! Lessons are November 4, 11, 18, &amp; 25.This month, we will work towards the goal of being musical and lyrical in our dancing!Rhythm! From syncopation of the triple steps, to the phrase structures, we will not only understand the music but also learn techniques to express them.Flow! We will also work to build the awareness of flow. Flashy moves/movements are great, but best do them only when they serve the flow. We will learn to identify the moments when the moves are well played and when not.
