Join MerseyWilders and Liverpool Tool Library in making swift boxes for Granby Four Streets.
The UK Swift population has declined by over 60% in the last 30 years, and are considered at risk of extinction. A decrease in the availability of nest sites, and the modernisations of homes are both contributing factors. We can help to turn this around by providing nest boxes on our homes.
In this workshop you will be provided with all the materials, tools and guidance needed to build a swift box. The boxes made will be donated to Granby Four Streets as part of an ongoing project to provide suitable nest sites and attract swifts to the local area.
Whilst you may not be able to take your box home with you, you will leave with all the skills and knowledge (as well as a handy guide) required to make your own swift boxes, and how to attract swifts, so that you can support swifts in your own local area.
There are limited places due to the capacity of the venue, so please do book early if you are interested. And if you are interested in more swift box workshops in future please let us know. If we know people are interested we have more justification to run more workshops in future.
