ABOUT DMF YOUTH:DMF Youth is a 501c3 non-profit that provides FREE afterschool programming to underserved youth in Title 1 Schools and homeless shelters. Our unique programs blend motivational dance education with a life skill development curriculum, helping at-risk youth build self-esteem, confidence, academic tenacity, and grit. Our mission is to create safe, nurturing learning environments that focus on developing the WHOLE child—physical, mental, emotional—and equip students with the essential life skills they need to break the cycle of poverty.In collaboration with principals, teachers, and psychologists, DMF Youth  developed a curriculum that helps young people tap into their own unique potential, using dance and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) as complementary tools for fostering collaboration, cooperation, and communication. By focusing on SEL, the program creatively weaves life skills like goal-setting, managing emotions, empathy, and leadership into the curriculum.  To date, we have served over 500 students in East Harlem, the Lower East Side and the Bronx.  The students who have participated in our programs have grown tremendously, showing reduced negative behavior and increased self-esteem. Truancy rates among DMF students are far lower than school wide averages. The traditional school day rarely address the social and emotional issues that plague at-risk youth and make it difficult to for them to succeed. DMF Youth's unique and highly impactful approach addresses these issues head on and teaches youth the value of perseverance, creativity, conflict resolution and empathy. Our students learn how embrace and cultivate their strengths and accept the differences in those around them.  We are eager to expand programming to serve more at-risk across all boroughs. www.dmfyouth.org

Body By Simone is thrilled to partner with NYC based non-profit, DMF Youth, to offer a one hour charity class benefiting it's much needed dance and life skill programming for at-risk youth!  Join celebrity trainer Alice Ramshaw as she leads you through a high intensity dance cardio and strength training class that will leave you feeling strong, powerful and ready to tackle the day.  
Class will begin with a brief intro to DMF Youth and its powerful impact on underserved youth across the city.  Learn how this non-profit blends dance and fitness education with a life skills development curriculum to help at-risk build self-esteem, confidence and grit and teach them the tools they to thrive in and out of the classroom!
It’s a win, win! YOU get an amazing workout AND do something great for underserved youth! We all know the power of a sweaty dance workout on our mind, body and soul, so why not give that gift to a child in need? DMF Youth is a 501c3 non-profit and donations are tax deductible!
