Dust off your dancing shoes for the 7th Annual Swamp in the City: A Cajun & Creole Music Festival happening May 16-19, 2024 (multiple venues), in Red Hook, Brooklyn!

NYC's 4-day celebration of South Louisiana's vibrant heritage will feature world-class Cajun & Zydeco dance hall bands, dance lessons, jam sessions, music workshops, Cajun/Creole food, a Thursday kick-off party, a Saturday afternoon pub crawl, a Sunday family dance, and a jam-packed weekend of music, dancing, food and fun along the beautiful Red Hook waterfront.

This year's All-Star lineup includes Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, Roddie Romero, Wayne Singleton, The Original Pine Leaf Boys, Jesse Lége, The Daiquiri Queens, Joel Savoy, Kelli Jones, Blake Miller, Rose & the Bros, Red Aces, Jean Bertrand & the 99 Playboys, The Slide Stops, Desiree Champagne, Jo Vidrine, Trey Boudreaux, Erick "Boss Hogg" Minix + more!


What to expect:

The festival begins on Thursday, May 16, with a kick-off party at Jalopy Theatre and Tavern, featuring performances by Kelli Jones & Joel Savoy, folllowed by Jesse Lége, Joel Savoy & Jo Vidrine. A dance lesson will be offered during the set break with music by Wilson Savoy & the Slide Stops closing down the Jalopy Tavern 'til late.

On Friday, May 17, experience the magic aboard the historic Waterfront Museum & Barge with a Louisiana dance party featuring Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole followed by The Daiquiri Queens. A simple dance lesson will be offered during the break, plus surprise Cajun bands at Sunny's Bar across the street.

Saturday, May 18, offers a full day of festivities, including a double bill brunch show, a Cajun Invasion pub crawl through Red Hook, and an evening of music, dancing at Strong Rope Brewery featuring Roddie Romero, Wayne Singleton, The Original Pine Leaf Boys and more from 7p-midnight.

Finally, Sunday, May 19, concludes the festival with a family dance and Cajun jam at Strong Rope Brewery, plus finale performances by Wayne Singleton, Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, The Daiquiri Queens, Jesse Lege and and more.


Ticket Information:

Ticket prices vary by event, with options for single-day passes, full festival passes, and special packages. Children 12 and under are free on both Saturday and Sunday with an accompanying adult.
