We finished the purchase of the land and lodge, now called Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center (RMERC) on June 15, 2017. While we are preoccupied with raising funds to remodel the buildings and pay off our loan, we are also trying to educate ourselves to be able to steward the large pristine and precious sub-alpine ecosystem at RMERC. We would like to start the process of documenting current flora and fauna and take necessary steps to align ourselves with natural forces to manage the land. Adam Brock, a Denver-based ecological and social permaculture designer and teacher, will join us for a tour of the land and lead a sit-down discussion of next steps and pointing us in the direction of advantageous resources. He will also offer a few introductory ideas on how social movement building based on his new book Change Here Now. We invite everyone to use this opportunity to visit the land and join our growing RMERC sangha!

A certified permaculture designer since 2008, Adam is one of the lead instructors for the Denver Permaculture Design Course and co-founded the Denver Permaculture Guild, one of the most active local guilds in the US. At the national scale, he served on the organizing committee of the inaugural North American Permaculture Convergence, as well as a contributor and guest editor of Permaculture Design Magazine. As co-founder and co-director of The GrowHaus, Adam helped transform an abandoned half-acre greenhouse into an award-winning hub for healthy food and urban agriculture. The GrowHaus, located in Colorado's most polluted zip code, now engages thousands of low-income residents per year, grows 1500 heads of lettuce per week, and has an annual budget of $1 million. Adam is also a co-chair of Denver’s Sustainable Food Policy Council, a TEDxMileHigh speaker, and has been named one of "Colorado's Top Thinkers" by the Denver Post.
