Workshop exploring sustainable approaches to working with solid materials

Bydd yn amlinellu rhai o’r gwahanol ddulliau cynaliadwy a hygyrch o wneud penderfyniadau ymarferol yn y diwydiannau creadigol.Bydd sesiwn y prynhawn yn cyflwyno dulliau cynaliadwy o weithio gyda deunyddiau solid, gan edrych ar ddulliau eraill o wneud mowldiau (gan gynnwys arddangosiad o gastio gyda myseliwm) a gorffeniadau caled.Dan arweiniad Louis Smith, cerflunydd a gwneuthurwr sy’n teimlo ar ei fwyaf cartrefol yn gweithio ar rywbeth mor fawr fel na allwch ddweud beth ydyw nes eich bod chi’n sefyll ymhell oddi wrtho. Gyda phrofiad o greu cerfluniau mawr a gwrthrychau wedi eu gwneud â llaw ar gyfer cwmnïau yn Ne Cymru a’r cyffiniau, yn amrywio o bypedau bach iawn i hetiau enfawr, mae ganddo ddiddordeb mewn darganfod deunyddiau a dulliau cynaliadwy a gweithio i’w hintegreiddio i arferion gwneud proffesiynol.-﻿----An educational and practical workshop, for makers and designers. Outlining some of the different sustainable and accessible approaches to practical making within the creative industries. The afternoon session will explore Sustainable approaches to working with solid materials, looking at alternative approaches to casting (including a demonstration of casting with mycelium) and hard finishes.Led by Louis Smith, a sculptor and maker who is most at home working on something so big you cannot tell what it is until you are standing far away from it. With experience creating large sculptures and handcrafted objects for companies in and around South Wales ranging from, tiny puppets to enormous hats, he is interested in discovering sustainable materials and approaches and working to integrate them into professional making practices.
