Sureni Weerasekera is a Sri Lankan-born, San Diego-raised, & New York-based stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. She is known for her lighthearted, conversational banter to her ruthless, dark jabs that shed light on cultural and queer dilemmas in a palatable, enticing way. 7×7 named Sureni one of “5 Bay Area Comedians on the Rise.” They described her as a “seasoned comedian” with a “straightforward brand of humor that has commanded the stages at Cobb’s Comedy Club and SF Punchline.”
She has performed at SF Sketchfest, Desi Comedy Festival, Oakland Comedy Festival, New York Comedy Festival and Silicon Valley Pride Festival. She recently opened for Hari Kondabolu, Ashley Gavin and Irene Tu.
