Supporting Females with Autism Spectrum Disorder within the School Setting

Presented by: Luann Bertaux, M.A., BCBA & Caitlin O’Brien Fielding, M.S. Ed.         Hosted by: FAU CARD

Females often demonstrate characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder differently than males. Research has shown that they are often more skilled at masking their deficits. This training will provide teachers with information and strategies to help identify and support females with ASD who are struggling behaviorally and socially in the school setting.

Participants will be able to:

1. How autism may manifest differently in females than in males.

2. Strategies for addressing behavioral challenges in females with ASD.

3. Strategies for addressing social/emotional challenges in females with ASD.
