Support Team Training is for Project 1.27 families and their support teams and provides valuable information on how to effectively support your friends and family as they care for children in the foster care system. The course discusses changes the family, existing children in the home and foster children may experience and how to provide support through the changes.
The focus is on the Christian practices of prayer, understanding the experience of the foster child, developing and maintaining important relationships within the family and team, and encouraging one another through the foster care journey. A support roster is created and families and teams will come away with a concrete plan for how to support the family as they prepare for placement and once they are serving kids in their homes.
Project 1.27 families and a minimum of four (4) friends or family team members are required to attend training. We recommend the support team members be local and available to provide hands on support.
