Join Jason Wise (aka @jasonjourneyman) on an easy, 2 mile round trip, 250ft elevation change exploration of our local ecosystems through the lens of QUEER ECOLOGY--the study of everything in nature that subverts western cultural expectations about how the world *should* work. The natural world does not subscribe to any particular human culture, it just exists as a beautifully diverse tapestry of ways to survive and thrive--individualistic or communal; patriarchal or matriarchal; heterosexual, homosexual, or in the case of most flowers, bisexual. We will observe, share, and learn about nature in ways that reflect our own diversity, and then connect to it on a whole new beautiful level.

This is a sunset hike into the evening, on a beautiful, easy trail with views overlooking the city. Let's hope for some nice weather so the sunset really pops for us.

Jason Wise (aka @jasonjourneyman) is a certified California naturalist, professional outdoor environmental educator, a native plant daddy, nature advocate, and prolific tree hugger. Let's go learn in nature together!
