Kick off your weekend with an evening paddle on Lake Newport in Mill Creek MetroParks. Explore the wetlands with a naturalist and enjoy the views from the water as the sun sets in the park. All experience levels are welcome!WHO: 18+WHEN: August 28, 2026 @ 6 PM * Please arrive 30 minutes early to fill out waivers and get fitted for equipment. We launch promptly at the trip's start time.WHERE: Mill Creek Metroparks- Lake Newport- East Newport Boat RampDETAILS: Meet at the East Newport boat ramp on Lake Newport. You can access East Newport Drive from either Shields Rd. or Brookwood Rd. in Boardman, or from Kiwatha Rd. in Youngstown (off Glenwood Ave). We suggest using the Google Maps navigation app to get there. GPS Coordinates: 41.06007° N, -80.67418° W.You can bring your own kayak or use one of ours. Arrive 30 minutes early to complete waivers and unload equipment. Suggested personal items to bring: sunscreen, bug spray, hat, sunglasses, drinking water, snacks, hand sanitizer, and binoculars.
