THE FILM:

R | 1h 54 min.

After a controlling owner pushes him too far, chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) quits his position at a prestigious Los Angeles restaurant. As he tries to figure out what his next step should be, he finds himself in Miami. Carl joins forces with his ex-wife (Sofía Vergara), best friend (John Leguizamo) and son (Emjay Anthony) to launch a food-truck business, and the venture provides a chance to reignite his passion for cooking -- as well as his zest for life and love.

(2014) Director: Jon Favreau

THE FUN:

Contemporary Cuban Salsa, Latin Jazz, & American Pop/Standards, all with a unique Latin tinge. Led by Raul Murciano, Jr.

Raul Murciano, Jr. is an unabashed lover of life and has worn many hats throughout life’s journey—from becoming a civil engineer to being a founding member/performer and musical director of The Miami Sound Machine (yes, with Gloria Estefan), to earning master's and doctoral degrees in music theory and composition, serving over 29 years at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, first as Program Director of Media Writing and Production, then Full Professor of Practice in Composition, and ultimately as Dean of Administration of the entire School, to now having moved to Denver in early 2020 and creating the Colorado Mambo Orchestra in 2021. It has been, thus far, nothing short of an amazing adventure that has included touring nationally and internationally making music with world-class performers, as well as composing and producing over 700 musical ads for radio, television (and even a few movie scores). As a university professor, Dr. Murciano has been privileged to mentor many currently successful and recognized (Grammy Award-winning) music producers, composers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and fellow educators

THE FOOD:
