Sunday Supper, "a cena della Domenica", is an Italian tradition--a time for families to come together, share a casual feast, and enjoy one another's company. Tonight is a time for our extended Sorriso family to gather and share some yummy food and an extraordinary bottle of wine. On the menu is traditional beef and pork ragu and egglant parm, among other tasty items. (YES, allergies can be accommodated)
And for wine???? We will be opening a double-magnum(!) of 2010 Viceré from Giuseppe Mongelli's La Gimonda. Giuseppe only makes a few different wines. There are no Riserva or Rosso bottles here. Only one wine from the finest grapes from each of his three vineyards sites. Viceré (Hand of the King) is bottled as an IGT because Giuseppe believes that it far outperforms the modern reputation of Chianti. Come share some food, community, and this wonderful bottle with us!
