Event description

Description

Sunday Night Lights is a free night of fun and football for children battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We recreate a high school football atmosphere under the stadium lights on a Sunday night -- featuring our special guests and their siblings in a carefully orchestrated and safe flag football game as players, marching band members, cheerleaders and pom pom girls.

Each participant is paired with a high school buddy and they are then personally escorted through the event, starting with a community carnival of games and fun. After a pre-game meal each participant enters the stadium to the cheers of a capacity crowd and are individually introduced onto the field as the game begins. We take care to ensure activities are low impact and safe for all involved.

This is a night we hope these children (and their families) will never forget, and for some it's a dream come true, experiencing the sights, smells and sounds as the stars of a high school football night on the field!

All of this, while gently reminding these heroes they are not alone -- they are supported by a community that cares!

Your free registration includes our annual pre-event "SNL Mini-Camp" -- a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to visit our high school campus and meet their Sunday Night Lights buddy. This is a completely optional event, but an informal time designed to just let everyone have fun and get to know each other. We play ice breaker games, practice some "moves" for Sunday's event and enjoy a snack together.
