When you experience the magic of printmaking with the Sun, you tap into mindful and tactile creativity. Join us if you’re interested in learning to make photographs without a camera, enjoy experimenting hands-on with materials, or want to engage in low-stakes creative play. This beginner-friendly workshop requires no prior experience and includes an introductory presentation with step-by-step instruction. Participants will learn the process & techniques for developing sunprints - or "cyanotypes", create their own collage designs, and print their images to make one-of-a-kind cotton tote bags!

Chloe Finley (they/them) is a Richmond-based craft artist and educator inspired by their Appalachian roots. Their fiber-based artwork explores traditional techniques like embroidery, quilting, and cyanotyping to celebrate human/nature connection, queer joy, and the biodiversity of the American Southeast. Chloe was born in West Virginia and attended the North Carolina Governor’s School for Visual Arts before graduating magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2021 with a BFA in Craft/Material Studies. Their artwork has been shared in New York, including A.I.R Gallery and Times Square, across the Southeast, and closer to home in Virginia, including the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, and ada Gallery.
