About this Event

Summary

This workshop is aimed at a broad audience of academics, professionals, and students that are interested in learning the basics of the R programming language and exploratory data analysis with R. Some prior experience with programming is recommended. If you know what a variable, a for-loop, and an if-statement are, you are good to go!

Instructors

Gregor Pirš, Jure Demšar and Erik Štrumbelj are researchers in applied statistics and machine learning at the University of Ljubljana and active members of the Bayesian Statistics and Computation group. They have over 2 decades of combined experience with R, including research and professional use, teaching R, and (co)authorship of several R packages.

Attendee equipment prerequisites

It is recommended that you bring a laptop with a working installation of R and RStudio (or another IDE that can compile and run R code, such as Visual Studio Code, for example).
