About this event:
Hacker Summer Camp season is just around the corner, and Summercon 2024, in Brooklyn, NY, is the official kick-off!
S ome program notes:
· Speakers will do their thing at Littlefield.
· Presentations will be simulcast at Lucky13 Saloon.
· On Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20, Summercon will enjoy dedicated use of the Lucky13 Saloon space across the street from Littlefield (644 Sackett Street, Brooklyn NY 11217) until 5PM. After that time it becomes available to the public.
· We'll also be streaming to the internet. Attending from the comfort of your own home is always an option.
While New York City no longer requires people to vaccinate against COVID-19 or wear masks to attend public events, they do have a few recommendations to prevent respiratory illnesses:
· Stay up-to-date on vaccinations – for COVID-19 and flu.
· Get the updated COVID-19 bivalent booster.
· Wear a high-quality mask, such as a KN95 or KF94, that covers your nose and mouth.
· Test before and after travel, or if you were recently exposed to someone who has COVID-19.
· Stay home if you are sick. (We have a very liberal refund policy--you will get your money back.)
· Wash your hands.
· Consider additional precautions if you are at increased risk of severe illness.
So, as usual, we'll be kicking off the summer conference season with our great presentations, games, drinks, and this year's slate of nominees for the Pwnie Awards!
