About this event

  • 3 hours

Join us for a Summer Solstice Yoga Mala to celebrate International Yoga Day at Long Dock Park on Friday June 21st at 6pm. The summer solstice marks the longest, lightest day of the year. On this day we will collectively raise our vibrations and join thousands of yogis around the world to honor the sun.

The sacred number of 108 is seen throughout many disiplines. This strong practice is a representation of us leaving the stillness of the winter towards the summer for the purpose of growth. This event is for all levels and all types of yoga practitioners. Our intention is to enjoy the beauty of the Hudson River while moving in nature.

All are welcomed ! Please practice for as long or as little as you desire. Modifications will be given for beginners and advanced practitioners. For those wanting to move through all 108 sun salutations, please expect class to be 2.5 hours long.

We will begin with a harmonizing breathwork followed by warming up the physical body and building our internal heat, then moving to 108 sun salutations. After our practice we will be guided to relaxation by a soothing South Bath. After your practice enjoy the yoga community.

Tickets are donation based, suggested at $25 per person. Children under the age of 12 are free. ALL PARTICIPATING MUST REGISTER ONLINE.

Food Trucks and vendors will be in the park throughout the event. Please bring a yoga mat and any props needed. Families are welcomed to bring a blanket to observe or practice together.
