About this event

  • 3 hours

What you see, hear, smell, and feel in the Preserve changes throughout the year. As summer begins to unfold, join Mike for a 6-mile hike and experience lush greenery, frogs chirping, increased pollinator activity and birds in peak breeding season. Leashed dogs are welcome.

Be prepared to move at a steady pace; some hiking experience is recommended.

Meet in the Visitor’s Center courtyard. Please wear sun protection, bring water to drink, and wear comfortable closed-toed shoes.

The hike will continue in light rain; however, in the event of heavy rain, the hike will be canceled. You will be notified by 5 pm the day prior.

Max: 20 people

Parking: $6 per vehicle

Rockefeller State Park Preserve was created through several farsighted and generous gifts to the State of New York by the Rockefeller Family since 1983. It is designated as a “park-preserve” to highlight and protect its natural, historical, and cultural values. Its network of carriage trails wind through scenic forests, fields, and wetlands, which provide important habitat for native plants and wildlife.

The Preserve Office and Gallery are open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and are located at 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, N.Y. 10570.
