Farm camp is a great and fun way for your farmers-at-heart to come and be part of the farm. Camp will be on-site frm 9am - 3pm Mnday- Friday. (If you need a later pickup extended hours are available. Contact us for details)
There will be two groups based on age - 6-9 year olds (5 years olds are ok with prior approval) and 9-12 year olds. (If you have a child close to the cusp and would like them in a certain group - reach out to us ahead of time and we will do our best to accomdate siblings, etc.)
Our young farmers at heart (6-9 year-olds) will have fun learning about the farm and the land. An example of a day at farm camp would be learning about the farm and our farmland, a plant cycle, visiting the seasonal crops and walk through the fields, discussing the importance of healthy food (including harvesting and preparing healthy snacks), and maybe even look at role of insects (good & bad)! In between the kids will do crafts associated with the day's topics, play games, visit the animals and just have a lot of fun.
Our scientific farmers (9-12 year olds)will spend some time on the above topics, but will address the topics above in a deeper more age-appropriate level and we will encourage their curiosity as they learn more about how we farm in a modern age using AI, computer technology and even meet & talk to the farmers!
And in between it all, the kids will just have some good ol' farm fun getting dirty, playing games, etc.!
Campers will bring a packed lunch but all other snacks and supplies will be provided.
