How much is to take part in the week of dance and performance at Middlesbrough Mela?

FREE - there is no charge for this opportunity thanks to funding from Arts Council England. All we ask is for a commitment once booked as no-shows are taking a space from another child who could have taken part.

What do I need to bring with me?

All you need is lots of water/drinks and a packed lunch/snacks to keep your energy up. Also, bring a jumper/jacket as we will be going to Albert Park to practise the routine outside.

Question 3

What do I need to wear?

Accepted Answer

Please wear clothing that you are comfortable in and can move easily in. This could be joggers or leggings and a t-shirt. Please wear flat shoes like trainers as we will be practising our routine at Albert Park outside.

What are the dates of the Summer Dance Camp?

Monday 29 July, Tuesday 30 July, Wednesday 31 July, Thursday 1 August, Friday 2 August, Saturday 3 August

What time does each day run from and until?

10am - 3pm each day

Can children be left with us for the day?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on arrival at 10am a parent/carer will sign the child(ren) in and will sign them back out again at 3pm. We will take an emergency contact number incase we need to contact you. Parents are welcome to stay however they do not need to.

Do I have to attend every day?

No - we understand that the summer holidays are a busy time for families. Please let us know which days you cannot attend when booking onto this Dance Camp.

What dates are the rehearsals to be part of the performance at Middlesbrough Mela?

Saturday 10 August, 10am - 3pm 
Sunday 11 August (dress rehearsal), 10am - 3pm 
Performance day: Saturday 17 August, 10am - 6pm (shows at 1pm & 5pm)

What time are the performances at Middlesbrough Mela?

On Saturday 17 August there will be two performances; 1pm & 5pm. Children need to do BOTH performances.

What do we wear for the performance?

We ask you to wear all black with trainers. We will provide bright pink and orange accessories.

What measures are in place to ensure my child(ren) are safe?

Accepted Answer

Our dance teachers have enhanced DBS checks as well as public liability insurance. TeesDance has a robust safeguarding policy and procedures to ensure children and young people are cared for and safe during our care. If you'd like a copy of our policy please email amy@teesdance.org.uk
