5-Day Robotics and Coding Summer Camp for Kids 6 Years and Older (Mon-Fri, 1PM-4PM) packed with fun, engaging, educational, and rewarding activites. We have over 50 activites for hands-on learning.

Come join us for an exciting summer camp focused on Robotics and Coding! Dive into the world of robotics with hands-on activities. Kids learn how to build and program robots, and unleash their creativity. Our experienced instructors will guide you through hands-on activities and challenges. Kids make new friends who share their passion for STEM and have a blast exploring the possibilities of Robotics and Coding. Don't let your kids miss out on this awesome opportunity to expand their skills and have fun!

What do kids learn in our Summer Camp?

I (an experienced engineer) and my son (an engineering student at Purdue) have created our own robots from custom-crafted wooden and 3D printed pieces. They are specifically designed to inspire creativity in kids. Kids will engage in many hands-on activities that are building blocks of a fully functional robot. They will learn about various components they need to build a robot, how each component works, how they all fit together to make a robot. They will learn about using motors (180 degrees and 360 degrees) to create various movements. They will learn programming concepts for robotics. They will learn to control various movements of a robot, range of movement, speed of movements etc..Some of the initial activities (but not limited to) include:

  • Build a Robotics Gate, Traffic Light Controller, and Windmill. Here is a YouTube Video
  • Operate a Robotic Gate using a single 180 motor and code
  • Control a traffic light 3 LEDs (Red, Green, Yellow) using code
  • Operate a windmill using 360 degrees motor and code (control speed and direction)
  • Read data from a sensor and take specific actions based on sensor input
  • Control multiple components using a single microcontroller and code
  • Learn to write code using various examples to make the robot do different actions and see results immediately

Project:
After doing the activities listed above, they will get a pretty good understanding of how the core components work and how to write code to control them. They will then build a fully functional robot that plays the drum. They will build this in 3 phases and learn coding that goes with each phase. And finally they will get to tweak the code or write their own code to make the robot play different drum beats. Basically, they will learn to create their own music.

Here is the YouTube Video of the Drumming Robot they will build and program.

Frequently asked questions

How long is this Summer Robotics and Coding Camp?

This camp is 5-day long, Mon-Fri, 1PM-4PM.

Who is this Summer Robotics camp for?

Typically, ALL kids 6 years and older. NO prior knowledge of robotics needed. Any kids with any level of skill can join - those with NO exposure or experience with robotics as well as those with some exposure/experience with robotics. We have over 50 activities and projects- for ALL kids.

Do kids get to keep the robots they build?

Yes, your kids will get to keep one of the robots (Robots with Robotic Gate, Traffic Light, and Windmill). They will also work on other activities and projects, but those are for learning purposes. If you want your kids to keep other robots, we will provide you an option to purchase them.

What if I have a kids that is 5 who wants to attend the camp?

Sure, why not! We have had kids 4 yrs and 5 yrs old attend our camp in the past. As long as you are comfortable, we welcome younger kids in our camp. However, please know that younger kids may not be able to grasp all the robotics concepts. But they will still have lots of fun!

Organized by

Kids Explore Robotics was founded by Mr. Vinod Agrawal (dad, an experienced engineer) and Mr. Aarav Agrawal (son, an engineering student at Purdue). We offer single 1-hr class, 3-month courses (once a week for 1-hr for a total of 12 weeks), as well as Summer Robotics and Coding Camps.

We are different. Our robots are simple in design but provide a powerful learning experience that is fun, engaging, rewarding and educational. They are designed to get the creative juices flowing, build self-confidence, and let your kids discover the possibilities. We offer over 50 activities where kids engage in hands-on learning. We have lots of unique robots, each robot is different and focuses on unique learning skills. All our robots are custom-made, designed from simple wooden blocks and 3D printed parts. Our creative and original designs are simple but provide a powerful learning experience. Our open-concept designs teach behind-the-scenes of robotics and coding to maximize learning. Students work on many fun-filled individual activities that are building blocks of robotics to maximize learning – every student gets to work on the activities. Most importantly – Kids have a BLAST while they learn a LOT!

Our teaching method breaks down the learning in small chunks and makes it really easy for any kids to understand, comprehend, and learn. Kids work on individual activities as well as group projects that improve critical thinking, teamwork, and social skills under the guidance of our trained experts.
