What does the work entail?

Accepted Answer

Workdays will include clearing trail and cutting/ removing invasive shrubs  with hand tools. We would say this is  moderate physical work including lifting, bending over, pulling carrying shrubby debris. There are occasionally sugarbush tasks such as chopping wood or hauling sap.

How should a volunteer dress and prepare?

Accepted Answer

Volunteers should dress for working outside in potentially freezing temperatures. Dress in layers. Water resistant or proof boots is high recommended. Don't wear anything you wouldnt want getting dirty.

Question 3

How accessible is the space?

Accepted Answer

This work is not very accessible currently, the trails include slippery, uneven, snowy or even muddy terrain.

The basecamp of the sugarbush is a 1/4 mile walk from parking over on Tireman Street and Outer Drive. This short hike includes a steep potentially slippery hill without stairs.

What sort of shelter or facilities will be available?

Accepted Answer

This event is 100% outdoors with no indoor facilities  available. There is not  a bathroom open this time of year in the park. Guests may enjoy the comfort of an open fire to  warm themselves over by the basecamp.
