Event description
Join us for a Suffragist Tea where you will gain a brief history on The Woman's Movement from Julie Mancine!

About this Event

The Woman's Suffrage Movement started with an invitation to a tea in 1848 hosted by Jane Hunt. Along with her four Quaker guests, this tea launched the birth of the passage of the 19th Amendment that gained women the right to vote. Come and enjoy a Suffrage Tea as you gain a brief history of The Woman's Movement from Julie Mancine, Hays-Heighe House Coordinator/College Archivist. An exhibit will be on display along with the original Harford County voting box used by May Bradfield in 1920.

The Suffrage Tea will begin at 1:00pm. with limited seating for 50. Please make us aware of any special parking needs as well as any special seating requests. Call or email us! (caitlin@steppingstonemuseum.org, 410-939-2299)
