Subsea Bolt Performance Workshop

The National Materials and Manufacturing Board (NMMB) of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine provides objective, independent assessments of the current state of materials and manufacturing research.  Topics for NMMB studies and workshops range from the applications of new and existing materials in innovative ways, including pilot-scale and large-scale manufacturing, to the design of new devices and disposal.

NASEM National Materials and Manufacturing Board

The topics addressed at this workshop will include the designs for connectors currently in use, connector performance and failtures in undersea environments, manufacturing processes for connectors, quality control, and current regulations applied to similar types of fasteners.  The workshop will take place on April 10 from 8:30am-5:30pm and on April 11 from 8:30am-5:30pm at the Keck Center in Washington D.C.  A preliminary agenda is forthcoming.
