Welcome to the 41st Annual Bayou Bash!

We invite you to help us raise scholarship funds at our signature Bayou Bash, taking place on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the African American Museum of Dallas. The Bayou Bash draws Southern University alumni and supporters from around the country, providing a nostalgic campus feel, with a touch of Louisiana culture. These important scholarship funds are used to support our deserving North Texas students attending Southern University. Because of your support, the SUAF-Dallas Chapter awarded over $40,000 in scholarship funds during the 2023-2024 school year.

The Southern University Alumni Federation - Dallas Chapter was established on April 10, 1955. Since its inception, the chapter has consistently engaged in fundraising opportunities to generate scholarship funds which assist students from North Texas who attend Southern University.

The Dallas Chapter's mission is to support the Southern University Alumni Federation's goal to promote and enhance the Southern University System's status as a premier center for higher education. The Southern University System is the only Historically Black College and University (HBCU) system in the world. The Southern University System consist of 5 campuses across the state of Louisiana: Southern University and A&M College, Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center and the Southern University Law Center, all located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Additional campuses are Southern University located in Shreveport, Louisiana and Southern University located in New Orleans, Louisiana.
