Thank you for your interest in the Student Hackathon 2021. We are re-evaluating this event and will restart ticket sales in the coming month. Please note, this event is only for current high school students who attend a school in Maryland, USA.

Interested in software development, design, and coding? Sign up today for the virtual Student Hackathon 2021 hosted by the Maryland Innovation Center, MAGIC (Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboration), and IOT (Internet of Things).

As a 2 -day challenge, this hackathon will be a challenging and fun experience where you can learn how to design, build, and pitch an app in a short period of time. Students will be grouped into teams of 3-4 players and focus on one of the following challenges:

  • Hack for the Future of Farming
  • Hack to Create Cities of the Future
  • Hack for Energy Efficiency
  • Hack to Make Machines Smarter
  • Freestyle/ Bring your own Idea

Want to participate but don't know how to code? No problem! No experience is necessary and every great hackathon team needs a diverse set of skills, including graphic design, business, marketing, and communication. MAGIC has a Hackathon Workshop that will provide you a crash course on all aspects of bringing an app to life, including new and innovative tools to help attain your goals. The Hackathon Workshop will be available in pre-recorded classes that you can view when it is convenient for you and your team.

Ready to get started? Sign up today and come ready to identify a problem, design a solution, and build an app! All students with an interest in app development, graphic design, business, and/or marketing are encouraged to participate.

Registration will close on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

*Please note: This hackathon is intended for high students in 11th-12th grade that are located in Maryland, USA.
