The New Frontiers in Transportation Student Competition is an initiative hosted annually by the University of Toronto Transportation Alumni Network with the goal of connecting current students interested in transportation, with alumni who currently work in the field.
Over a three month period, interdisciplinary student teams worked with mentors to conduct research on a topic of their choice, under this year's theme: Reimagining Transportation Systems for a Changing Climate
We invite you to please join us in person on Tuesday September 20 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the University of Toronto Galbraith Building (GB202, 35 St.George Street, Toronto, ON M5S 1A4) to hear the teams present their final research on this exciting and relevant topic. At this event, a panel of three judges will be evaluating the students' research and at the end, will announce the winning teams who will be awarded scholarships.
The team's research titles are listed below:
- Geographic / Economic Inequality in Accessing Climate-Resilient Modes
- Active Transportation in a Changing Climate
- Laurentian Hyperloop
Following the Symposium, there will be a mixer at the Prenup Pub (191 College St, Toronto, ON M5T 1P9) at 7:45 PM, where students, alumni and other friends of UTTAN can catch up in person first time since 2019!
A big thank you to our sponsors for making this possible: Dr. Mazen I.S. Hassounah, HDR, IBI Group, CIMA+, TraffMobility and StreetLight.
