The North Carolina Early Education Coalition is bringing babies, parents, and other early childhood advocates to Raleigh this summer to call attention to what babies and families in North Carolina need to thrive. Giving all babies a strong start in life yields significant returns in the long run through more years of education, more employment, and better health as an adult. Join us for Strolling Thunder on June 7th to tell our policymakers it’s time to Think Babies - for stronger families, vibrant communities, and a prosperous future. No experience necessary! You’ll bring your baby, your stroller, and your story, and we will help with the rest. 
<H4>Please join us for any and all of the following activities:</H4>
8:30 – Breakfast and welcome 9:00 – Program begins 9:30 – Meetings with legislators begin 10:00 - Stroller decorating 11:00 – Stroll around the NC General Assembly 11:30 – Baby-friendly activities in Bicentennial Plaza (across from the Museum) and parent team visits to legislative offices
<H4>We are able to cover some travel costs for parents and early care and education providers of young children ages zero to three. </H4>

FAQs
What if I can only attend one part of Strolling Thunder NC?
That's fine! We know that attending events with little ones can be tricky, so we want you to come and go as you need to in order to do what's best for you and your family.  
What if I'm not comfortable speaking to a legislator?
You don't have to speak with a legislator in order to be part of Strolling Thunder NC, although we are happy to work with you to make you feel more comfortable. Come join the fun and help us raise awareness about why it's time to think babies! 
Do I need to bring my stroller?
Yes, if you can! We will have supplies available to decorate strollers and will be taking a group stroll around the General Assembly at 11:00 am.
Where should I park?
Please <A HREF="http://naturalsciences.org/visit/directions-parking" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">click here</A> to see directions and recommended parking options. Strolling Thunder NC will take place in the Nature Research Center of the Museum, so use the 121 West Jones Street address.
What if it rains?
Strolling Thunder will take place rain or shine! If it is raining, then the play-time will be moved from Bicentennial Plaza to inside the NC Musuem of Natural Sciences.
Will there be food?
Yes, coffee and a light continental breakfast will be available.
Will there by child care during the event?
No, all parents are responsible for watching and caring for their children during Strolling Thunder.
How can I participate in Strolling Thunder NC if I can't be in Raleigh that morning?
Follow along on social media using #ThinkBabiesNC and #StrollingThunder and let lawmakers know why you think it's important to invest in the needs of babies and families in our state.
