An access-centered outdoor club for Central Florida Queers! Meetup at Spring Hammock Preserve for a stroll and roll with Basically Wonderful
Stroll and roll with Basically Wonderful at Spring Hammock Preserve on Saturday, May 16th! Join us for a relaxing evening amongst nature and good company as we make our way down this paved nature trail together.
Meet us at the Osprey Trail trailhead at 5pm! We'll be heading down the trail at 5:15pm, to allow for folks who may be running a little late to the meetup. Please RSVP so we know to expect & wait for you.
About Spring Hammock Preserve: Spring Hammock Preserve covers about 1500 acres and shelters hydric hammocks, floodplain forests, pine flatwoods, and upland mixed hardwoods. Various hiking and biking trails offer encounters with old-growth oaks, cypress, sweetgums, and magnolias. This preserve protects some of the oldest and most impressive cypress trees still standing in Central Florida.
We will be staying on the paved trail during our time together, and will aim to take our time to allow for resting and plenty of nature-gazing. There are many benches placed along the path, and a pavillion about half a mile into the trail. Opsrey Trail is around 2 miles long, but we likely will not go all the way to the end -- the exact length of our journey will be determined together based on the capacity of the folks who attend.
There are accessible parking spots in the lot closest to the trailhead. There are porta-potties near the entrance/parking area, but there will be no bathroom access once we are on the trail itself.
Stroll & Roll is an access-centered outdoor club for Central Florida Queers, hosted by @basically1derful and facilitated by nature-lovers Mikey (they/them) and Beck (they/them). All LGBTQIA+ folks and allies are welcome to join us for our outdoor excursions!
