4th Annual Stroll for Joel. Join us at 11am on Sunday, April 12th, for lawn games, LIVE MUSIC, and more shenanigans at Sunlight Mountain Resort to remember a local legend! All are welcome!
This event is to remember local legend Joel Shute and all those we've lost doing what they loved: ADVENTURING! Joel Shute lost his life during an avalanche in Marble on March 17, 2023, and if you have lived in Colorado long enough, you also probably know someone who passed in the great outdoors. This event is to honor their legacy. Everyone is welcome to join, we have all lost someone, and you will be in good company, as this is an end-of-season celebration of life!
Even if there is no snow, we will still be hosting this event to fundraise donations for Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC), West Elks Search & Reschue, and the Sunlight Ski Patrol!
Todd's Tavern will be open at 11 am with Live Music starting at 1 pm, and a COSTUME CONTEST! Be there at 9:30 AM with a target skin-up start time around 10 am! Last one up gets a prize!
Suggested $20 Donation to support the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC), West Elks Search & Rescue, and Sunlight Ski Patrol. This event is sponsored by Sunlight Mountain Resort, Alpine Bank, Phat Thai, , Holy Cross Engineering, Friends of CAIC, Cripple Creek Backcountry, and many others.
