Overview

Let's lace up those sneakers for the JLG 5K walk – it's all about gaining strength and support! 100% of donations will go to the JLG Fund

Join us on Saturday, October 11th, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at McCullough Park in Muncie for Stride for Strength: Step for Jaden.

This 5K walk/run honors the life of Jaden Lee Garrett and continues the mission of his community to bring awareness to suicide prevention and the importance of mental health.

From a young age, Jaden showed extraordinary loyalty and dedication. He was a devoted member of Deliverance Temple Church, a member of Concrete Rose, a disciplined martial artist who earned his brown belt at White’s Bushido, and a proud leader in the NAACP Youth Council and Real Black Excellence. On the court and on the field, Jaden’s sportsmanship, determination, and love of the game inspired teammates and coaches alike.

He also showed entrepreneurial drive through JLG Lawncare, where his work ethic and leadership shined. Beyond his personal achievements, Jaden’s parents, Douglas and Krista Garrett, continue his legacy by awarding scholarships, supporting youth programs, and helping families in need.

Through this event, we walk together in Jaden’s memory, support one another as a community, and take strides toward breaking the silence around suicide and mental health challenges.
