About this event

Stress Less, Live Fully is an opportunity to refuel, connect with like-minded people, and learn science driven strategies to effectively manage stress. Participants will learn a variety of mindfulness and self-compassion skills that are practical and proven to support wellbeing and resilience.

  • Course consists of eight 90 minute sessions and a half-day retreat.
  • Course combines includes elements of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion.

About the Facilitators

Sarah Carr, LMFT (she/her) specializes in helping teens and adults navigate OCD, anxiety disorders (social, generalized, phobias, panic), depression, work stress, and body-focused repetitive behaviors. She is trained in evidence-based treatments that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). Sarah has attended over a dozen multi-day residential mindfulness retreats and is a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher.

Sarah is passionate about supporting people with moving towards their goals by helping them to connect to what is most meaningful in their lives. She is committed to working with LGBTQ+ folx and people of diverse intersectional identities. Compassion, humor, curiosity, and cultural humility are foundational components of Sarah’s approach to helping others.


Marina Bystrisky, PhD (she/her) offers evidence-based psychotherapy to people struggling with anxiety, OCD, and stress-related issues as well as to people seeking personal development and fuller, more meaningful lives. With an office on Street in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood (between the Marina District, Pacific Heights, the Presidio, and Russian Hill), she serves clients from the city and from other San Francisco Bay Area communities including Sausalito, Tiburon, Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Marin City, and Larkspur.

We offer a variety of mindfulness and self-compassion courses, drop-in sessions, and stand alone workshops. Our wellness classes are appropriate for beginners and advanced practitioners of mindfulness. Sliding scale and scholarship spots are available for all wellness classes.
