<H3>Thanksgiving is over but the abundance continues thanks to our farm workers.</H3>
In Strawberry Days, a 15-year-old boy leaves Poland with his parents to work on a farm in Sweden where foreign workers are exploited. Against all odds, he forms a bond with the farm owner's daughter. Beautifully photographed, the film features a coming-of-age story while conflict simmers between the haves and the havenots. This film won the Anti-Defamation League award for sensible treatment of "otherness."
An East Coast premiere. English subtitles. 
Kate Cox, editor of The New Food Economy, will talk about the film with the audience. Immigration is a critically important issue for farmworkers. Learn about current legislation proposals impacting US farmworkers. 
Ticket includes reception. Wine, beer & finger foods served.
Parking ($4) in the Giant garage behind the GALA theater when validated in the GALA lobby. Close by the Columbia Heights Metro Station is served by the Green & Yellow lines.
