Join a 1-hour beginner's class led by master straw weaver and graphic designer Ksenia Koshykova. Straw weaving is one of the oldest Ukrainian traditions.Ms. Ksenia will introduce you to and teach you the intricacies of straw weaving a bird. You will weave and feel the power of sun-kissed straw and create your own masterpiece. Each creation combines symmetry, harmony, and your own imagination.We hope that the new knowledge you gain will inspire your further creativity. The language of instruction is Ukrainian. Space is limited, so please buy your tickets in advance! All materials for the project are provided.Meet the Instructor:Ksenia Koshykova is a designer from Kharkiv, graduated from Kharkiv National University with a degree in publishing and printing, works as a designer, and creates unique handmade straw products. Ksenia is a member of the National Association of Straw Weavers of the US. She currently lives in Seattle, where she creates and supports Ukraine, preserving and spreading Ukrainian culture within the community.Creating decorative, ceremonial, and magical straw products is an ancient Ukrainian art. Ксенія є членом Національної Асоціації з соломоплетіння Америки. Зараз живе у м. Сієтл, де творить і підтримує Україну. Зберігає і поширює українську культуру серед громади.Створення декоративних, обрядових, магічних виробів з соломи є давнім українським мистецтвом, долучайтеся і Ви!
