Klasey Consulting has partnered with Lincoln Famlies to bring "Strategies to Talk with Youth and Young Adults about Dating, Boundaries and Sex after Sexual Abuse" to providers in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras. Trauma can impact one’s understanding and experience of intimacy, and given the high rates of sexual abuse amongst youth, it’s important that social service and behavioral health providers are equipped with the skills and knowledge to talk about intimacy after sexual abuse. You will learn how trauma impacts one’s relationship with sex and how to support transitional age youth in developing a healthier understanding and experience of sex. You will also learn dialogue with youth and young adults about dating, boundaries and sex. Without these conversations, youth and young adults are left to navigate these topics on their own or with their peers. This training will equip you to have these crucial conversations.

The learning objectives are:

  • Participants will be able to identify at least 1 way sexual abuse impacts how one views sex
  • Participants will be able to identify at least 1 strategy to support a sexual abuse survivor who has a trigger while engaging in sexual activity
  • Participants will be able to identify at least 1 challenge sexual abuse survivors have setting boundaries
  • Participants will be able to educate system-involved youth and young adults about boundaries

Please note that in order to register for these free trainings you must be staff, caregiver or volunteer working directly with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only. Participants outside of these areas aren't eligible.

This training is being facilitated by Dr. Saulman of Klasey Consulting LLC. You can learn more about Klasey Consulting at www.klaseyconsulting.com. You can follow us on Instagram @klaseyconsulting to stay informed about upcoming trainings and resources.
