Join us for Storytelling with Eric Hollenbeck, star of The Craftsman TV show, and Founder of Blue Ox Millworks, in Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the designation of the Headwaters Forest Reserve

Where: the Headwaters Education Center on the Elk River Trail in the Headwaters Forest Reserve

Description: Eric will discuss exploring the historic town of Falk (listed on the National Register of Historic places in 2023) as a teenager in the 1960s, his work in the salvage logging industry, his restoration work along with Fortuna high school students on the sand shack from Falk, his appreciation and support of redwoods conservation, and his dedication to preserving the aspects of our country’s historic trust. Questions from the audience will spur dialogue and storytelling.  The presentation and audience will be filmed for television.

Bio: Eric is the nationally renowned co-founder and owner, with his wife, Viviana, of Blue Ox Millworks in Eureka, a fully functioning Victorian job shop, school, historic park, and haven for craftsmen. He has made pieces for state parks, historic cathedrals, Russian East Orthodox churches, two governor's mansions, and the White House.    

Getting there: The Headwaters Education Center is one-half mile down the paved Elk River Trail in Headwaters Forest Reserve, at the end of Elk River Road, Eureka, Calif. Registered participants should plan to arrive in the parking lot at 9:30 a.m. for the 20-minute walk to the event. The presentation will begin at 10 a.m.
