CreatiVets, in collaboration with Exit12 Dance Company, is proud to present "Stories of War: A Dance Collaboration" at Belmont University in Nashville. This Memorial Day performance marks the debut of Exit12 in Nashville, TN, as the renowned dance company brings its powerful blend of movement, theater, and storytelling to Music City.

"Stories of War" is a poignant exploration of the effects of war on veterans and civilians, featuring a diverse cast of dancers, veterans, and military-connected individuals. Through a dynamic combination of dance, theater, live music, and spoken word, the performance aims to illuminate the personal and cultural identities shaped by the experiences of war.

Exit12 will hold space for participants to share their stories, fostering cross-cultural dialogue, empathy, and healing. The performance will feature music written by veterans who have participated in CreatiVets programming, adding an authentic and deeply personal layer to the production.

"We are thrilled to partner with Exit12 and Belmont University to bring this powerful collaboration to Nashville," said Richard Casper, Executive Director of CreatiVets. "We hope to honor the sacrifices of our veterans and inspire meaningful dialogue about the impact of war on individuals and communities with this powerful music written in our Songwriting Program."

"Stories of War" is made possible by a partnership between Exit12, CreatiVets, Belmont University, and the National Endowment for the Arts. This collaboration underscores the collective commitment to using the arts as a catalyst for healing, understanding, and connection.

The performance will take place on Memorial Day, May 27th, 2024, at Belmont University's Troutt Theater. Show will start at 6:30pm. Tickets are available for purchase online through Eventbrite.
