Description:

Join the TN Voices Ready Set Grow team as we discuss Family Coaching, a home-based support for children 0-8 rooted in the Pyramid Model. Family Coaching is designed to reduce family stress, promote appropriate behaviors, and teach children the skills needed for optimal development and school readiness. In this session, we will provide a basic overview of the Pyramid Model Framework, share our Family Coaching model, highlight the importance of the home-school connection, and provide resources that can be shared with families and educators!

Taylor Thurnau, M. Ed., IMH-E®

Taylor Thurnau is an Early Childhood professional with over 8 years of experience in the field. She began her career in Florida as an Infant/ Toddler Specialist teaching Early Head Start Students in the classroom. After that, she served as Preschool Director and went on to become an Early Childhood Quality Specialist/ Coach. Taylor then moved to Nashville, Tennessee and worked as Mental Health/ Behavior Intervention Specialist supporting Head Start and Early Head Start Programs. Currently, Taylor works at TN Voices, a mental health non-profit located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. In her current role, Taylor serves as the Ready. Set. Grow! Program Director. This program offers support for educators and caregivers of young children 0-8 years old residing in Tennessee at no-cost. Available services include training, technical assistance, consultation, and family coaching. Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master of Education in applied behavior analysis. When she is not working, Taylor enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family!


Carolyn Burk, IMH-E®

Early Childhood Program Manager, Shelby & West TN

Carolyn has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Early Childhood Education, that began in 2002. She has served in varies roles with Head Start and Early Head Start Programs in West TN, as well as DCS in KY. Carolyn’s passion is advocating for children and educating parents in challenging situations. Carolyn enjoys seeing families learn new tools to help them become stronger, loving families. She lives in Memphis, TN with her daughter and two fur babies.
