IDENTIFY AND TREAT LIFE-THREATENING BLEEDING

Stop the Bleed is a course that teaches the basics of seeing and treating life-threatening bleeding.

Students will have lessons and hands-on training where they will learn how to apply direct pressure, and how to use dressings and tourniquets to stop bleeding.

You never know if you may need to help a person with life-threatening bleeding. The help given by an immediate responder can often mean the difference between life and death, even before professional rescuers arrive. You don't need medical training and the course is FREE!

Stop the Bleed is a nationwide campaign to teach people how to quickly save lives. No matter how fast emergency responders get there, bystanders will always be the first on the scene. It only takes a few minutes for a person to die from blood loss. So, it's important to stop blood loss quickly. By using a few easy steps, you can keep the injured person alive until emergency care gets there. With the right training, YOU can help save lives!

This course is two hours in length. All students will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the course. Class is taught by experienced Level I Trauma Center staff. Parking will be validated in class so be sure to bring your parking pass with you to class.

Because this class is aimed for adults, the recommended age for this class is 15 years old. If you are looking for a Stop the Bleed Class for participants aged 10-15, please contact event coordinator for alternative course options.
